Genuine China Tours hit the drawing board in 2006, and became a fully licenced travel agency operating under Chinese law in 2010. GCT was also approved for a licence to operate a branch office in Shanghai in 2013. GCT has been in the top-25 travel agencies in Shaanxi Province measured on growth in the inbound market since 2011.
Our company was formed by two former tour guides, Ms. Violet Wei and Mr. Casper Tollerud, both with more than ten years’ experience in the tourism industry in China. Our wish was to ‘go back to the roots’ and create a travel agency where tours are designed out of our belief in what is the best solution to a tour, and not – like what is the norm – to sell tours based on profit margins.
We have personally researched all of our tours. This means that when we suggest a destination to you we do so from personal experience, hence our motto ‘We know. We’ve been’. Owner Casper has spent more than six years on the road in China to understand every detail of our tours, and co-owner Violet has traveled to all corners of China. Our attention to detail is unparalleled in the industry. Our staff is likewise very attentive to every detail of your tour, so please rest assured than when you book a tour with us you book an experience of a lifetime!
