Activities | Today's tour takes you to some of Beijing's most important sights. You begin at the Temple of Heaven, an important temple from the 15th century, which lies in an enormous park full of people excercising in the morning. Then you continue to central Tian'anmen Square, around which many of the country's most important buildings are found. From Tian'anmen you cross the street to the Forbidden City to enjoy this marvel of Ming Dynasty architecture before you head to your evening restaurant to try out the famous and very tasty Peking Duck. |

Activities | The incredible Great Wall of China lies north of Beijing and waits for your visit today. After breakfast you drive to the Mutianyu Section of the wall, and from the parking lot take the cable car to the top. You have plenty of time to walk on the wall and enjoy the amazing views before it is time to head for downtown Beijing and your hotel again. |

Activities | Today you will visit the Summer Palace, famous for the beautiful grounds and the Long Corridor and Marble Boat, which you will enjoy this afternoon. Before the Summer Palace you first visit the Lama Temple and the Confucian Temple. The Lama Temple is a very active temple, while the Confucian Temple was built in honour of Confucius, one of China's greatest philosophers ever. |

Activities | You arrive in Xi'an in the morning and are met by your private guide and driver at the train station. From here you drive out of the city to visit the 1300 year old Qianling Spirit Way, one of the earliest preserved in China. Near here you also visit Princess Yongtai's Tomb, before heading to the Han Yangling Lesser Terracotta Army. Han Yangling is smaller than the more famous Qin army, but is a great sight allowing you to get up close to the centuries old clay figures. Later you go to your central hotel for check in and rest. |

Activities | Today you first visit Xi'ans impressive city wall, dating back hundreds of years. The wall used to protect Xi'an when it was the home of the emperors in ancient China. Later you once again drive out of the city, today to reach the magnificent Terracotta Army. This clay army, numbering more than 7000 lifesized clay soldiers, was built 2200 years ago by the mighty Emperor Qin. In the afternoon you return to your hotel, and the rest of the day is free. |

Activities | Xi'an is a very historic city as you will learn when you visit the Shaanxi History Museum, one of the best in the country. Later your tour goes to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, before taking in the central square and the Muslim Quarter. This area gets going in the afternoon when vendors come out and make the main street of the Muslim Quarter into a lively market street. |

Activities | Shanghai, one of the largest cities in the world, is waiting for you. A morning flight from Xi'an brings you here, and immediately after arrival your guide takes you on a tour of the city, starting at the City Planning Museum in central Shanghai to see the impressive scale model of the city. From here you continue to Xintiandi and the 1st Congress of the CPC to learn a little about the party's place in colonial Shanghai, before you check in at your centrally located hotel. |

Activities | Amazing Shanghai lies at your feet, quite literally, as your guide takes you on a walking tour of the city's best sights. From the hotel it is a short walk to The Bund, the former harbour that made Shanghai a booming city in the late 19th century. From here it is another short walk to Chinatown with its narrow alleys and vibrant life. In here you also visit the City God Temple and then Yuyuan Garden. The temple is still very active, while the garden is a great example of Chinese garden art. In the afternoon you return to your hotel and rest. |

Luxury Upgrade Policy: A luxury upgrade option is available with many of our tours. In accordance with our quality benchmark, upgrade options are divided into four categories: 1. Available - upgrade possible at all destinations in tour itinerary. 2. Partially available - upgrade not possible at one or more destnations in tour itinerary. 3. Not recommended - available or partially available, but not recommended (see Hotel Policy). 4. Not available - luxury upgrades are not possible on many of our trademark specialty tours to remote or developing regions. These tours are deeply genuine and authentic.
Keeping our guests' comfort in mind, we prefer to stay in a 2* or 3* hotel in or close to the attraction, rather than a 4* or 5* hotel much further away. Genuine China Tours' all-encompassing hotel policy is that we will never pick a hotel only because of its price. All our partner hotels must live up to a strict quality test that includes: 1. Geographical location - the location of our chosen hotel is of great importantce, both in large cities, where traffic congestion can play a vital role in the handling of the tour, and also on tours to remote villages, where the right choice of village or hotel can mean a world of difference to the tour. 2. Quality of hotel - including room size and cleanliness, quality of breakfast, ease of getting in/out and more. 3. Local environment - local environment should include local sights (when possible), be in the vicinity of local markets/night markets (if any) and have access to shops and convenience stores (if any). 4. Design and layout of hotel - we prefer hotels with history and atmosphere, especially if these have relevance with the sight(s) at the destination. 5. Value for money - any hotel must pass requirements 1-3 and 5. If a hotel passes all five requirements it becomes a Priority Hotel.
Also important: 1. Please perform a thorough health check before traveling. If your health is not good enough please refrain from traveling. Most major tourist destinations in China have good health care services, but on tours to remote or high altitude destinations you should make sure your health allows you to travel to these destinations. Genuine China Tours will bear no responsibility in case of any accident, relapse or discomfort. 2. Disabled persons should be accompanied by by their own aid instruments or an accompanying person. Genuine China Tours can not provide aid instruments. 3. While traveling please adhere to instructions from your guide and stay clear of any dangers and/or annoyances. 4. Genuine China Tours reserves the right to refuse participation on a tour if the traveler is deemed unfit to participate or will be a nuisance to other travelers. 5. On tours to remote areas or high altitude areas accommodation and restaurants may not be up to standart. You should be prepared for this if choosing a tour to these areas. 6. Please make sure to bring items that may be necessary, like windproof jacket, umbrella, sun screen (sun lotion), health related articles, items of personal nature etc. 7. On speciality tours to remote regions, Tibetan areas and mountainous regions Genuine China Tours will bear no responsibility if tour itinerary is changed due to government policies, weather or any other influencing factors outside GCTs control. |
