Activities | Today we visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven and the surrounding park where people come early to exercise, then drive north to the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu to see the famous and more than 6000 kilometer long defense system, built centuries ago. In the evening we enjoy a delicious Peking Duck dinner, and then experience the Peking Opera at Huguang Guild Hall. |

Activities | Today we go on a city excursion to walk on the nation's great square, Tian’anmen Square, and then continue on to Forbidden City, a marvel of Ming Dynasty architecture. Later we go on a Hutong Rickshaw Tour to see these famous Beijing alleys. We also visit a local family in here, and participate in preparing our evening mail. Later we go to the train station and prepare to leave Beijing by night train. |

Activities | In the morning we arrive in Xi’an and to straight to our hotel for breakfast. Then we once again board our bus and drive to the Qianling Mausoleum Spirit Way and Princess Yongtai’s Tomb. This Spirit Way is China's oldest and dates back 1300 years, while Princess Yongtai's Tomb holds some well-preserved burial murals. Later we drive back to our hotel and check-in, before we enjoy a dumpling banquet dinner. |

Activities | Today the incredible 2200 year old Terracotta Army await us. We see all three pits and learn about this jaw-dropping construction. A total of around 7700 lifesized clay soldiers have been found so far. Later we visit a Tang Dynasty art gallery, and in the late afternoon we take a walk in the lively Muslim Quarter. |

Activities | Today's tour includes the City Wall, an enormous structure running around the entire center of the city. Then we visit the impressive Shaanxi History Museum, where some of the greatest archeological discoveries of China are on display. Later we visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, before the rest of the afternoon is free to explore on your own. In the evening we enjoy a delicious hot pot dinner. |

Activities | In the morning we fly to the charming village of Fenghuang in Hunan Province. First we transfer to the airport to take our flight from Xi’an to Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan. After arrival in Changsha we drive through the beautiful rural scenery to Fenghuang Ancient Town. This atmospheric village's Old Town lies on the banks of the Tuojiang River and is steeped in charm. Our hotel is located just at the beginning of Old Town. We check-in and rest. |

Activities | After breakfast we visit Fenghuang Ancient Town by foot, taking in the East Gate, Rainbow Bridge and Yang’s Temple on the way, and also take a short boat ride on the Tuojiang River which runs through town. The afternoon is free to explore on your own. Make sure to visit the local night market that spings up around dusk near the hotel. |

Activities | After breakfast we drive to Dehang Miao Minority Village. The Miao are known for their colorful traditional clothing. However the Miao village is not what we are here for. From the far side of the village we go on an easy two-hour hike to Sand Waterfall, taking in the countryside as we walk. After lunch back in Dehang we drive to Ningxiang, and check-in at our hotel. The hotel is a spa hotel, with pools, spa and saunas available throughout the evening. |

Activities | Today we drive to Shaoshan, Chairman Mao's former home town, where we visit his former home, the Mao statue and Water Dripping Cave. The Water Dripping Cave is a mansion built for Mao, where the leaders of China held a series of important meetings in the 1960s. In the afternoon we drive back to Changsha and go to the train station to take an overnight soft sleeper train to Guilin. |

Activities | We arrive in Guilin in early morning, and then drive to the Li River village of Yangshuo where we have breakfast at the hotel. Yangshuo lies in the middle of the world-famous limestone scenery south of Guilin. We enjoy this incredible scenery by taking an Yulong River Bamboo trip. After lunch we go back to our hotel and the afternoon is free, until we meet again for a special dinner with, among other dishes, snake. |

Activities | Mid-morning we take a walk in the stunning scenery around Yulong River. After lunch the afternoon is free to explore on your own. In the evening we see the absolutely incredible Impression Show directed by famous Zhang Yimou. The show takes place on the water in a bay of the Li River, and most of the 600 performers use bamboo rafts to perform. A very impressive show. |

Activities | After breakfast we drive to Guilin Airport (if time permit we visit Reed Flute Cave on the way), then takea flight to Hangzhou. Hangzhou City is famous all over China for its beauty. After arrival in Hangzhou we go straight to famous West Lake to taste Chinese green tea while enjoying the beautiful surroundings, before we go to our hotel to check in and rest. |

Activities | Today we start out by taking a short cruise on West Lake. Later we visit the large and sprawling 1700 year old Lingyin Temple, an active and atmospheric temple, and also visit a tea plantation to learn more about the famous Longjing Tea, before we take a stroll along Hangzhou Old Street. |

Then we check in at our hotel, and in the evening we see the fantastic Shanghai Acrobat Show. |

Not available - luxury upgrades are not possible on many of our trademark specialty tours to remote or developing regions. These tours are deeply genuine and authentic.
Keeping our guests' comfort in mind, we prefer to stay in a 2* or 3* hotel in or close to the attraction, rather than a 4* or 5* hotel much further away. Genuine China Tours' all-encompassing hotel policy is that we will never pick a hotel only because of its price. All our partner hotels must live up to a strict quality test that includes: 1. Geographical location - the location of our chosen hotel is of great importantce, both in large cities, where traffic congestion can play a vital role in the handling of the tour, and also on tours to remote villages, where the right choice of village or hotel can mean a world of difference to the tour. 2. Quality of hotel - including room size and cleanliness, quality of breakfast, ease of getting in/out and more. 3. Local environment - local environment should include local sights (when possible), be in the vicinity of local markets/night markets (if any) and have access to shops and convenience stores (if any). 4. Design and layout of hotel - we prefer hotels with history and atmosphere, especially if these have relevance with the sight(s) at the destination. 5. Value for money - any hotel must pass requirements 1-3 and 5. If a hotel passes all five requirements it becomes aPriority Hotel.
