Day 03
Destination Xian - Shanghai
Activities Today you see more of Xi'an’s remarkable historic sites. We start at the City Wall, a well preserved ancient wall dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1374 AD). The wall runs around the entire center of Xi'an. You may hire a bike to ride on the wall. Later you visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda built 1300 years ago in Jianfu Temple. In here you also watch a short shadow puppet performance. Shadow puppet performance is a traditional Chinese art with a history of more than 2000 years. In the afternoon, you drive to visit the Han Yangling Underground Museum. It may not be as big as the Qin Terracotta Army counterpart, but is an excellent sight as the see-through floor allows us to get very close to the 2000 years old clay figures. A wonderful tour of Xian is almost over, your guide will bring you to the airport and assist with the check in formalities, before you board your late afternoon or evening plane and begin the journey home.
