Day 01
Destination Shanghai - Beijing
Activities You go to Airport for your group’s morning flight to Beijing. Your private English-speaking guide and driver wait for you when you arrive at Beijing Capital Airport, and straight after arrival you begin your excursion at the Summer Palace, a wonderful area of pavilions, walkways and not least the large Kunming Lake where the emperors used to live during the hot Beijing summers. We walk along the 728-meter painted Long Corridor that Empress Dowager Cixi used to walk. Then we drive to the Bird's Nest Stadium, the famous stadium that held the main events at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. We see the stadium from the urban park outside, before taking a Hutong Rickshaw Tour. You will not only visit these famous old Beijing alleyways on the Rickshaw, but also have a chance to visit a local family and listen to their story there. Later your guide brings you to your hotel for check in and rest.

Day 02
Destination Beijing
Activities Today's excursion begins at the Lama Temple. The Lama Temple has been an active temple since the late 17th century and home to the largest wooden Buddha statue carved from one tree in China. Then you drive north into the mountains to visit the Mutianyu Section of the Great Wall (incl. return cable cars), a section that is less visited than most other parts. The Great Wall of China is an incredible man-made construction hundreds of years old. In the evening you will dine on the world-famous Peking Duck Dinner in the Quanjude Restaurant. Quanjude started its roasted Peking Duck business 150 years ago and has been authorized as China Time-honored Brand.

Day 03
Destination Beijing - Shanghai
Activities Beijing has been the capital of China for almost 600 years, and as such is home to a wealth of the country's premier sights. You begin today’s adventures at the Temple of Heaven, formerly a place of worship for the emperors and now a landmark of Beijing where local people come early to exercise. From here your guide will bring you to central Tian'anmen Square, the heart of the city, and after having seen this enormous square you continue on foot to the Forbidden City where the court lived before the fall of the dynasties in 1911. In here you will hear about how the emperors lived and worked and see all the major buildings. A wonderful tour of Beijing is almost over, your guide will bring you to the airport and assist with the check in formalities, before you board your late afternoon or evening plane and begin the journey home. End of the tour.

About travel to Beijing

1.Please check the weather forecast before departure and prepare accordingly, i.e. sunglasses, sunscreen and/or windbreaker. Please see http://www.weatherforecastmap.com/china/beijing

2. Beijing traffic is among the worst in China. Please be prepared for some time spent on the tour bus while driving between sights.

3. Some sights are very large and in certain places parking is inconvenient. Please expect some walking through, to and from sights.

4.At places where tourists go, scammers may try to trick you into buying fake goods or participate in a tea ceremony. Please use caution when approached.

5.Take care of your belongings in crowded places.

2. Disabled persons should be accompanied by their own aid instruments or an accompanying person. Genuine China Tours cannot provide aid instruments.

3. While traveling please adhere to instructions from your guide and stay clear of any dangers and/or annoyances.

4. Genuine China Tours reserves the right to refuse participation on a tour if the traveler is deemed unfit to participate or will be a nuisance to other travelers.

5. On tours to remote areas or high altitude areas accommodation and restaurants may not be up to standard. You should be prepared for this if choosing a tour to these areas.

6. Please make sure to bring items that may be necessary, like windproof jacket, umbrella, sun screen (sun lotion), health related articles, items of personal nature etc.
